I was advised not to change my address from the UK to Australia. I keep my account going over here, under my UK address, and credit my flights to my BAEC account.

I have Silver status, so I didn't want to give that up when I moved here (it is the same tier as Qantas Gold and offers lounge access etc.), and I didn't see the point of maintaining two Oneworld loyalty programmes.

However, there is a way that allows you sign up to Qantas Frequent Flyer, build up status by crediting flights, but still use for BAEC status for benefits. You can do this by adding both numbers to your booking.
