Currently staying at the HP RDU so posing some off-the-cuff observations.
Noise
- Airplane noise only noticeable if you listen out for it. I'm on the 4th floor so maybe this is a factor? Not a big deal overall.
- Window unit type air conditioner is a little bothersome but all in all, still ok. Better than the ones at Alofts if you ask me.
- The noise from slamming doors and other rooms is what is really a PITA here. I can hear hallway conversations as well as a large part of what goes on in the next room. A little off base but I suspect the rooms layout are not symmetrical. (Think of it as a mirror image where the bed is against the bed, separated by the wall.) I suspect on the other side of the wall of my bed is not the bed in the next room but the bathroom. I HEAR WAY TOO MUCH OF WHAT GOES ON!
Facilities
- Pool closed for season
- Gym is small and basic. 4 machines only, no mats or other floor space. But clean and well maintained.
- Rooms are huge. At least the one I got has a large entry living area.with a huge 5 seater couch and mini dining table. The furniture almost seems too small for the area. The open floor area is easily 10 by 10.
Front desk/Breakfast
- Staff friendly and responsive. Probably the best part of the staying.
- Breakfast is standard and of reasonable quality. The made to order part is also quite good.
Overall, great for staying near the airport. Easy access and convenient.
