It would be fun to name the planes again. Why not? Hold a contest as Virgin used to do with some awards for the winning namers.

Though my one experience with that came a cropper a number of years ago and still makes me laugh.

As a Virgin FF member back then, sent in my (okay I was joking a bit) proposed name for the latest 747: "Dickey Bird" after a couple of manhattans. Wot? They didn't get the pun? Richard...Dickey?? Okay.

Got back immediately an automated wrist slap saying the contest did not allow inappropriate language or, well "dirty" suggestions.

That was me told then.

Of course the slang meaning of the name might have been incomprehensible to worldwide travellers, and even though I'm American, I know that term, so not THAT incomprehensible. But I still like it as a plane name, rude or not. LOL.

But sober, we could come up with some very nice BA plane names, couldn't we?
