We're overhauling our hotel descriptions very soon which will include much more detail about each hotel.

I agree with this. My first stop when I'm looking for a hotel is the photos section of the tripadvisor reviews. The written reviews themselves are hit or miss, but the pictures don't usually lie. Invaluable resource.
I find the negative aspect of reviews helpful.. half of the opinions are bunk, but it helps to figure out whether we are able to survive the worst that trip advisor reviews can throw at it..
There's bad reviews for every hotel.. so its important to read and see what's relevant..
