I think we can all agree that both New York and Paris are important international cities (and gateways). If the best that AA can do on what is a highly visible route such as this is one daily 757, then it does not augur well for AA's long-term viability on this route. I am merely a casual observer, but it seems to me that, given a choice between a once-a-day 757 on AA and seemingly more attractive and comfortable equipment and better schedules on other competitors, the non-AAdvantage flyer might well choose the latter. Does that not spell a downward spiral, eventually ending in abandoning the route? It would be good to remember that there are flyers and those who make decisions with respect to flying who are not necessarily invested in the AAdvantage program and can therefore move to the competitor who offers better choices.
