I think SQ have about 19 A380 on order + 7 options - however the remainder have committed to 20 or much less (BA have 12 firm and about 7 on option IIRC).

I'm beginning to wonder about their strategy too, it seems clear that if pax numbers aren't growing at the same rate EK are expanding then they have to fill their planes at the expense of other carriers. They can either do this by better product or price dumping or a combination of both. At the lower end of the fare structure, the product really doesn't matter that much - it's all about the price.

At the higher J and F fares, if they have a better product and price dump then the existing carriers will certainly suffer. Doing this at a time of world economic slowdown too....if this is the EK strategy then it is quite brilliant timing
