The document I have for trip interruption and trip cancellation insurance says: "This insurance provides coverage whenever the entire cost of prepaid travel, accommodations, and/or recreation arrangements are paid with your card..." and "card" is defined as the AeroplanPlus Platinum Card (plus the Platinum and Business Platinum cards, but no other Amex cards).
