I realize that you are looking for less miles than full E, and I'm sure that this has occurred to you--nevertheless, it might be worth considering if a big MR is worth doing in the new year, plus whatever other Star travel you can kick to AE/AC. By not qualifying for E, you would then get early E for 2012 and therefore also for 2013 (if I recall how that works correctly). You'd get a lot of bang for your MR buck.
