You can choose not to honor the rules you agreed to when joining Honors. If you read the rules you agreed to the benefits are for the Honors member staying in the room.

Some hotels do enforce these rules and require the Honors member with status to present themselves at the front desk before benefits are provided. Just be aware this could happen.
