Maybe I misunderstand... did you qualify as CO*G for next year? If so, why would you need to get AC*E as well?

CO*G is *A Gold, which means lounge access and extra bags on AC. What it does not get you is upgrade credits for 2012, of course, and if that's really important to you then maybe the MR is worth it. But if all you want is the lounge and the bags, and you have CO*G, then you have it already.
