Well, I may as well complete the mini-TR.

Journey was great - the sofas (and sockets!) in the lounge car are a great addition, as are the huge duvets and new pillows. My roommate wasn't a psychopath, which is always a bonus.

Slept well, and opted for the showers instead of the gym. Pretty decent really - not quiet Narita rest rooms, but clean, hot and good pressure. Shower gel & towel included and no queue at 07:25. They do look quiet lived in, but for me, no worse than showering at a friend's house.

I did go to see if I could see into the gym (it's just by the Hielanman's Umbrella entrance to Central Station), but it's underground, so you can't see in.

Right, time to drink up this coffee and head for darkest Renfrewshire...
