Best Universal AC/DC laptop/PDA charger?

Any suggestions/recommendations for a good universal charger?

Here is what I need it to have:
1) Ability to charge devices via AC and DC power connections.
2) Ability to charge Sony laptops (I assume all companies make Sony laptop tips)
3) Ability to charge the iphone 4s
4) Ability to charge the iPad

I have the Kensington #33197 Auto/Air Ultra Portable Notebook PC Power Adapter. I've been very happy with it for years, but I have recently moved to the iphone and ipad and for some reason this device won't charge either device. It also doesn't have a usb input so I cannot just connect the iphone/ipad cords to it.

In addition, one thing that I don't like about the Kensington is that it only has one output so it can only charge one device at a time. I notice that there are some devices out that will allow you to charge two or even three devices at once. I see Kensington has their AbsolutePower Laptop, Phone, Tablet Charger, but that doesn't appear to allow for DC power connection.

I've searched online and see the Targus Premium Laptop Charger (AC/DC) APM69US. This seems to fit the description of what I need. But online reports indicate the Targus unit overheats and instead of having a small leader cord the Targus brick must be plugged directly into the outlet making it difficult to plug this unit into certain outlets (especially when at an airport or a hotel).

Does anyone have experience with the Targus or any others that they recommend?

Thanks!
