There are always guys standing there asking if you need a cab. Ask one of those guys and negotiate on the rate. It will be a lot less expensive then making a reservation with one of the companies that others have suggested above.
I know this is against the airport rules; however, it happens all the time. The drivers are always there needing work.
Gypsy cabs, the ones which rape you on fees. :-)
People don't know how the Medallion system works in the city so there is always a sucker who winds up taking a Gypsy cab instead of a Yellow Medallion cab.
Always one which tries to sneak into the taxi stands and the cop shews them away.
Gypsy cabs are no different than Medallion cabs except that they charge more for services and perhaps will go farther distances.
If you want a limo or car service, you better call to have someone pick you up at the airport. Or for those who desire the quicker route, chopper service as well.
