Hello,

I've not traveled to Australia with EY. However, I've flown with them a couple of times in the ORD/JFK/CDG - AUH - MAA sectors with the A332, A345 and A346 aircraft in Y.

Seats -

The A346 have one of the best seating pitch in the EY fleet. I'm 6foot and still was able to sit comfortably for the 14 hour journey from the US to AUH. In contrast, the seat pitch in the A332 aircraft is a bit tight.

In-flight Dining -

I've always enjoyed the food on board Etihad. There are usually 3 meal options in Y class (1 vegetarian and 2 meat options). They also have a separate dessert service after the main meal. In the long flights, they have a mid-flight service, consisting of snacks or some short-eats. Finally a pre-arrival meal. During the flight, the crew does water runs. At anytime during the flight, one can always go to the galley, which has a bar with few soft drinks, short-eats etc...

In-flight Crew -

Crew can be a hit or miss. Having flown with the US carriers, my expectations are always low. The crew can be a bit indifferent sometimes. Mostly, they do their job. Do not expect them to be overly friendly or go out of their way.

In-flight Entertainment -

The E-Box has AVOD and also a good selection of movies and other programs. The 14 hour flight went by fast. I watched 2 movies, caught up on some shows and then slept for a while too.

Transit at AUH -

Abu Dhabi airport is not as big as DXB. T3 is pretty good, but T1 is crowded, especially during the night hours when the regional flights depart. There are free internet stations and some good duty free shops, which should help you spend your time.
