Why don't the PMCO folk instead say "we want a step forward." I'd venture to say that the vast majority of PMCO fliers would agree that scanning the boarding pass is an objectively more convenience method to validate access. But instead of demanding an improvement for themselves, they suggest we take solace in the fact that "it's not that difficult."

This is the same attitude that has permeated the discussion of the devaluation of 1K. Instead of saying "we want the perks that they had" the PMCO conventional wisdom has been "we never had that, and it isn't that big a deal, so you should just suck it up." I just don't get it.
I guess I do not see the need for a card vs. say just a BP as step backwards, just a different way of doing business.

Can be it annoying? I guess so, but it is not annoying (or step back) at least to me (and I can only speak for myself).

I do understand where you coming from and as I said earlier changing from entering a club in one fashion to entering a club in another fashion (i.e. changing the process) can be annoying, I just do not feel it is that big of a deal.

I guess in the end of day I say, this is downside to a merger, very few people are happy.
