If you can get the nose on the 744 then that is best. Otherwise I'd prefer an A346 just because it's quiet, smooth and feels a little fresher.

However, if you're of a more generously proportioned persuasion the seats in the B zone (behind the nose) on a 744 may be more suitable because they feel slightly wider. (They're angled a bit differently)

The timing of the 007 is better in my opinion because it gets to LA earlier and in winter the 23 ends up arriving in the dark which doesn't feel right to me.

If you're also returning with Virgin try both.
