A year old thread turned up because I had to make the samer trip this year. LAst year, I did not make that trip, as I was unable to find any reliable information. Some of the information given was outride WRONG and the rest questionable or more expensive than what I wanted to spend.
I have asked for this information on three IBB's
The most immediate, and the most frequent answer, which is unfortunately flat WRONG, is prepaid taxi. Te pre-paid taxi service operated by Delhi Traffic Police serves mainly Delhi and maybe some areas in Gugaon and NOIDA. If you look at their fare chart, you would hard pressed to find a destination further than 38Km or so.
Some suggested MegaCabs Easy cab etc. I emailed them before the trip and they responded in about 48 hours saying they would not go that far.
I had also written to some other outfits, whose names I do not recall, who did not have a car available.
I asked a person who lives in Gurgaon. He also suggested that I call a radio taxi at the airport. Upon my insistence, he called and confirmed that radio taxis will not go beyond Manesar.
He booked a car for me for Rs 800, which I suspected was not right also. There is no way someone can drive you 60 Km, crossing two state lines for Rs 800. When I arrived at my destination, the driver told me it was Ra1400 something including toll. So In paid him 1600 since I had three pieces of luggage and a carry on too.
I do not know whether Hertz or Avis would go there. But the the one I used does. Granted that Bhiwadi is hardly a destination more than an traveller or two would have the need to go to. But it is India forum and any destination is a legitimate topic until reliable/verifiable and correct information is provided.
My suggestion to all the helpful posters is to avoid the temptation of giving an answer which they are not sure of. Hearsay does not help the person who is seeking information.
