I generally like fruit beers, but most pumpkin beers have what is to me, anyway, an unpleasant "sour wine" aftertaste.
I've tried some of the odder Dogfish Head beers and decided that novelty is over-rated.
Went to England last month and was looking forward to trying English ales and actually didn't find much to my liking. Beer should be at
least cellar cold and apparently, for me, needs that carbonation to bring the flavors up in the mouth. Most of the ales tasted one-note. (Although I am certainly not comparing English ales to mass-produced US beer, which is, IMO, undrinkable.) I did find some ales at small, one-off breweries that I liked - my husband just stuck to German Octoberfest imports.
