If it was the first one, poor form. If it was the 2nd, then that's acceptable (once the door has closed as the FA's are in charge then).

The door wasn't closed. The GA was still present (my colleague boarded after I did). The GA (I'm guessing) knew that my connection was tight. She could have easily given my seat away but didn't. But the FA did, before the door was closed and without checking with the GA as to what passenger might be upgraded.
Didn't really mean to start a semantic uniform detail thread but I guess that's exactly what I did. Strange.
