Twaddle. Who told you that ? Those size cans make the perfect amount to mix with spirits - nothing to do with the storage in the trolleys - we can lay them on their side. Just ask for two when you are served - no one minds even on domestic.

I have never understood why we have to take those battered old pots out into the aisles - we could have decent size cups and indented trays to hold those cups and run them out full from the galley. I saw United do that years ago. It is possible but that would take imagination and lateral thinking which is always in short supply at British Airways.
