So basically they allow you to route connecting flights, but not real stopovers.

Which is better then their conditions for their own flights:

Miles & Bonus program is sector oriented. The passenger redeems for every flight number the miles corresponding to such flight. Flights with an intermediate stop having one flight number e.g. Rhodes – Rome via Athens, shall be considered as one flight.
so, if I am flying to a destination that has to be at least two connectings during the trip, but according to the A3 website that I can only have one "stopover" or connecting, does that mean I cannot book this route on one ticket or have to split it into two tickets and spend more miles?
