Hi,
I have two questions ... one is seeking wisdom of US frequent flyers and the other is purely out of interest sake.
I am visiting my family in Tennessee January 2012. I have my flight to leave the States booked, but now I need to get to JFK to make that flight.
I leave JFK at 10:40 (AM) on Monday 6th of Feb.
I have been told to be at JFK 3 - 4 hours before departure.
So, my dilemma is how do I get to JFK to make a 10:40 flight from BNA?
I am a student, so I don't have a stack of cash and am prepared to "rough it".
The only options I have found get me to JFK at around midnight ... not too sure what I would do for the 10 hours waiting for my flight. Because I don't think I will be in the "secure" area of the airport as I will have to collect my bags.
The other option I found is to fly BNA - Dallas - LAX - JFK, which would get me there around 06:00.
What do you guys recommend?
From what I understand, flying at that time of the year is pretty risky with snow delays?
I am 18 and don't have (or want) a credit card ... so I assume hotels will prove somewhat difficult.
Also, is transferring from LGA to JFK easy? Have had a quick look at getting a driver? Not sure if that will help me out in anyways.
And out of interests sake ...
My journey home consists of the following:
BNA - ( ) - JFK - JNB - SYD - ADL ; with lengthy lay overs at each airport.
It will take around 57 hours in total! Anyone done a long stretch like that before? I got a super cheap fare so I am not complaining! Definitely flying the wrong way around the world from the US - AUS!
Thanks!
Brad.
