Yes. If SPG simply credits the stay to you as SPG points in your SPG account, the only way you would ever get a hit from them would be for a
transfer, which is a different beast entirely.

), but cannot tell if $100 required minimum spend at SPG also means you have to earn *miles* with SPG by having your preferences set to miles earning, too. (I ask because my upcoming stay would get me something like 12,000 points.)
As I recall from comments by other posters, whether the full points total gets auto-deposited to your airline account depends on a few variables. (IIRC, some SPG Plats have seen their Plat bonuses post separately, and only in their SPG accounts.) You should be guided by those with the firsthand experience I lack.
