Assuming I arrive in Chicago around noon for a 3:15 game, what is the best (cheaper yet easy walk) option for parking? Is there a public lot nearby the hotel that would be cheaper yet still safe to leave the car overnight? I figure we park, bar-hop to the game, cab (or bar hop) back, grab the bags and then check in. Will probably be back on the road by noon Monday, so I'm looking for 24 hours of parking.
There are plenty of public lots North and West (across the river) of the hotel. Generally, the ones across the river will be cheaper, but you will have a longer walk. Many open-air lots won't allow overnight parking, but garages will. Do compare prices; I think HI charges $36 per night, so I doubt you'll save more than $10 or so by parking at a public lot for 24 hrs.
