Without wishing to reignite the topic, I agree with the OP. It's reasonable that we should expect a level of consistency regarding the messages we receive from the supplier. It is 'strange' that the OP received substantially different treatment from different members of the same organisation. It shows a lack of training within the organisation which ought to be something they focus on as they seek to improve their services.
I think that's all the OP was trying to point out.
I think it shows that they were trying to exceed expectations - and therein lies the problem. If they don't they are damned .. if they do they are also.
