Nobody knows that, but there maybe a grace period (or not)

If the new rates will apply immediately, I will buy a couple of US-Asia awards and then change the dates as I see necessary as I currently do not know the exact dates of the trips.
You can do that but your award ticket is good only for 1 year from the date of issue.
