There is no "Instant" Prestige recognition, and early Elite recognition only happens if you passed 35,000 status miles, or 50 segments before October 15this year. So you can expect an email in late December to make your select privileges for the 2012 benefit year - which technically runs Mar. 1, 2012-Feb. 28, 2013.

Often Packages are sent in january and are received within weeks of being sent. When you have your Elite card you can get into *A Gold lounges immediately. Some people here report that they have been able to get into a MLL with a print out of their aeroplan status page from the aeroplan site.
