Well, since it is ORD and you can gain access to the secure areas from any checkpoint, I went to another one. No "shoes" issue there, so I was good to go.

I passed the original checkpoint in the secure area and happened to see the supervisor who originally denied me my right to keep my shoes on. Being in one of those moods, I got his attention and waved and smiled to him and said "Well, here I am". He certainly recognized me. I immediately saw him go for the policeman who was nearby. I could hear him tell the officer that I was "loitering".

The officer came up to me to ask me what was going on. I told him the story and then told him I wanted the TSA agent's name because now I was going to file a complaint.

The officer went up to the agent and they had a little discussion. A few moments later, I was given a piece of paper from the supervisor himself that had his name on it, while the officer was watching. I thanked the officer and went on my way.
Bravo ^^^^ and I guess the TSO didn't see the sign that said "Fine for Loitering", huh?
