AF and KL are two different airlines with different products and policies. I always found AF inflexible on intra-European and domestic flights. As a matter of policy, they try to enforce their no-change (or change-fee policy) within Europe. Otherwise a huge number of business pax would circumvent their pricing policy of charging higher fares for flexibility.
