Hello,

I'll be traveling in the beginning of January from IAH-SIN and then returning to NYC at the end of the month. Singapore Air and United have equivalent fares and roughly equivalent travel times. Two questions:

1) Which is the better airline for this journey in coach?
2) If I book Singapore, do I need to book the Flex ticket in order to get miles that I can redeem on United?
