My wife was flying to a funeral yesterday so I tried to get a gate pass to stay with her until she boarded but was flatly denied by one of the SEA 1K gate agents. It was a US code share so we had to check-in over there and when I asked the US gate agent for a pass she was more than happy to provide it.
Next time I will just book a one way mileage ticket and then cancel.
