I had the AMEX Delta credit card for about 7 years then I cancelled it last October because I didn't think I'd ever get enough miles on it to make it worthwhile.
Then in March of 2011 I reapplied just because I wanted the $99 companion voucher. I didn't expect to get the 30k new card miles but I did get them.
My question now is how best to get another 50k miles for Delta without flying? Most of flights are on Continental just due to lower fares from my location.
What methods can I use to boost my Delta miles? I doubt that closing this card and reapplying will get me the miles again since it already happened once.

there are many bonuses for flying, but you could also get the DL amex business card, it is a different product and you will get signup bonus for it with no problem. I would cancel the personal goldcard, and wait until the platinum card has a better offer than you signed up on the gold card. If you don't get the whole bonus you will at least get the difference....you can also get 5000 points for signing up for a suntrust debit card, If you have a bunch of money to park in investments Fidelity has big bonuses...look on deltas site to see what partner offers are available...people in Ga. can get 10000 for singing up for natural gas service through one of their partners, you can also get points for dish, netflix, and others.
you can get the bonus for the DL card again, but you have to wait a long time after you cancel your previous card (2 years in my case).
