Thanks very much for your transport tips. I never had much problems with Chinese taxi drivers as I am from Asia myself and speak fluent Mandarin so do put up quite a fight when haggling! But good to know the rates nevertheless! Looking forward to my stay there.

Taxi fare from IC Chengdu to city center will cost around RMB35.00 and to the Panda Base around RMB80.00
There is a subway station nearby but I have not tried it yet.
