Based on TV reports, locals can watch Thai PBS at 8:30 PM to see Dr. Flood (Seri) in English, and Thai TV, here are my snippets...

The flooding situation is actually getting worse each day, and we should probably expect that for the next 15 - 30 days.

Water is moving at ~ 1.8 kilometers per day.

All of western Bangkok is essentially under water; this happened in just a few days.

Water levels in most of the flooded northern suburbs remain constant, they are not decreasing.

Bhumibol dam is at 100 % capacity, but thankfully is not letting out too much water as of the past few days.

Pushing water to the east remains challenging owing to that area being a bit higher than Central Bangkok.

The day-to-day response to the situation, and the subsequent forecasting, has been a mess at best. Several factions: Government, individual Ministries, scientific experts, the Military, locals are working at cross-purposes.

The system protecting Central Bangkok is made up of a hodge-podge of canals, sluice-gates and pumps. One failure at a critical point and there will be water everywhere. How much? Who knows, but some expect 10 cm to 1 m depending on exact location.

Train service to the North is available but limited, and requires a lengthy eastern detour before heading to Chiang Mai. Expect an additional 1 - 4 hours and maybe no sleepers. Train service to the south requires a bus part way from Hua Lamphong.

Bus Service to all points remains available but water is approaching Mor Chit now.

Some expect several MRT stations to close as flood waters encroach on them: Paholyothin, Lad Phrao, Ratchadapisek.

Hotel occupancy in Hua Hin and Pattaya remains at near 100%.

10 (ten) million rai, mostly rice paddy, have been lost which may be ~ 20% of production.

~ 1 million people are out of work.

Flood related disease cases are increasing.
