If you are sitting in the boarding area, just exactly how do "gate lice" bother you? They aren't infringing on your personal space, are they? If someone wants to stand on the carpet for 30 minutes, just how does that materially offend you? Because they aren't doing what

Just because it's not important to you and/or you wouldn't do it yourself doesn't mean others shouldn't do it if that's how they want to spend their time.
I think people who are critical of gate lice are simply jealous, and don't want to admit it.
