I haven't finished reading the responses (and thank you for them!) but wanted to clarify: Yes, this is our trip back home after 10 days in London (first) and Paris (second). Yes, I've asked my 13 year old and she loves the idea of the special Lounge (although neither of us really know how special it really is) rather than just going home...it's a way of extending the trip.

When I flew first class with my older daughter at this age, the experience of flying first class itself was part of the trip and she still talks about it! Unfortunately there is no option where one can fly BA first directly from CDG to JFK.

Wanted to mention that we are flying first class from home (New York) to LHR as well, but on AA. So, the trip home would be the first time either of us has ever flown BA F (and the second time this daughter will have flown F at all).
