I've stayed at both, and in my opinion RC-Kapalua is much nicer. It has a great beach, the rooms are nice and it's beautiful and quiet. You can get to all the action just a few miles down the road. I received a room upgrade for being Platinum, but I don't think I got anything else. The hotel is about an hour and a half from the airport, not a big deal.
