I suggest you ask the two passengers. If I asked my girlfriend (I am not sure if it is your wife or mother flying) and my 12 year old sister if they wanted a far shorter flight in business or two flights with a four hour connection just to be in First and visit a lounge, I can guarantee they would pick the non-stop in business.
