I was just there for 2 different weekends. It was my first time in Chengdu. Find out if there are events going on at the convention centers. If so, be prepared to have a hard time catching a taxi.

Also, when you arrive at the airport and taking a taxi to the hotel, make sure the taxi driver go by the meter. At times, they will tell you Century City is out of town area and they will not get a return fare after dropping you off, so they will offer a fixed fare at RMB80.00 The meter fare from the airport to the IC Chengdu should only be around RMB40.00+-

Taxi fare from IC Chengdu to city center will cost around RMB35.00 and to the Panda Base around RMB80.00

There is a subway station nearby but I have not tried it yet.
