Observations during a day of domestic travel

Sloppy: I walked into a SC without being carded (maybe that's why "SC's are too crowded" threads are popping up)

Acceptable: SC cont breakfast and coffee

Contradiction: DL iPhone app upgrade waitlist had me as 1 of 2 and someone else as 2 of 2. My wife as companion wasn't on that list. Then DL.com shows me as 1 of 3, my wife as 2 of 3. 2 F seats were available. Why the discrepancy between DL.com and DL iPhone app? Was it b/c our upgrades were processed on same reservation and we were counted as a package for the upgrade?

Surprise victory: The ticket scanner at gate spit out last minute upgrades for us (my wife as companion without status). I thought we lost the upgrade but was pleasantly surprised at gate. I never knew this happened and I wasn't expecting it.

IRROPS Sheena: Later flight was cancelled DCA-BDL. It had been delayed 2.5 hours for some reason in CHS before coming to DCA. DL said that BDL had power issues so they cancelled the flight. 95% of flights into BDL that afternoon were fine. I'm calling Sheena on this b/c I think it was cancelled b/c of mech issues but DL used the power outages in CT as an excuse. BDL was fully powered all afternoon.

Redemption: DL put my wife and I on the USAir flight to BDL one hour later and got our checked bags to BDL via USAir.

Chill to the Bone: Once we got home, it was 47 degrees inside our powerless house with power out in 700,000+ homes in CT after storm.
