Let me just state this. The millions of HKers who have a HRP who go to China absolutely DO NOT take anything other than a HRP to enter China whether they're taking a bus through Shenzhen Bay, or taking any non-stop flight from HKG to China, or train, or ferry, or whatever.

[And of course, they use a HKID to leave and re-enter HK.]
