I'll be flying on the new non-stop LAX-SIN (continuing on to BKK) in August in Raffles Class. This will be my first time flying SQ, although I've experienced a variety of other Star Alliance carriers. I'm looking forward to the trip, but have a few questions:

1. We're booked in the forward cabin of the A345 on the windows, as per advice I got here a while back. On the 744, we're in the upper deck in row 15. Is this a good place to sit, right in front of the exit row? Want to make sure there's plenty of visibility out of the windows, etc.

2. When I called to request seats, the agent advised me to look at the Book the Cook selections on the website, which I did. Do these selections change, or will they be the same in August as they are now? Also, because the LAX-SIN flight has two full meal services, can I request both with Book the Cook? Reviews of this service that I've read appear pretty good, but in your experience, is the food better with the regular selection on board?

3. What's the best lounge to use in LAX while waiting for the flight?

4. Upon arriving in Singapore, which lounge do we go to while waiting for our connecting flight? I'm Star Gold, and we're both in C-class.
