Any suggestions welcome

EWR-HNL in first has been horrible for years now ever since they downgraded everything making it a domestic flight without the INT Flight Attendants.
We are going to HNL again this year and thinking about going through SFO. Has anyone had any experience on the SFO-HNL 777 service in First? Any suggestions for excellent service in first to HNL from any other city?

couple of things to address:

1. Unless you got bumped up because the flight was oversold, there was no way this BF-branded flight could have complimentary upgrades.

2. OP, this flight was just a water-downed version of BF flight. It's not an international BF flight. Blame CO for charging premium for so-called BF flight but most of the service was almost the same as domestic F transcon. The food and amenities will be similar to transcon.

3. For most who talked about AA DFW-HNL, I will try that on Jan 15, so we will see how it turns out. However, another alternative is ORD-HNL, which also operates in 763 Lie-Flat F cabin.

You know, even though EWR-HNL is in BF service, but since it's close to domestic F, let me put it in perspective. AA F is slightly better than CO F especially you get upgrades more easily, and ORD/DFW-HNL upgrade will be better, and easier than EWR/IAH-HNL. There's always a reason why I choose to fly AA more than CO this year. I hope CO/UA is doing better next year after the merger.

PS: I do feel that being an EXP seems to be much more valuable than CO PLT, maybe even 1K.
