The scenario that makes the most sense is a lot of paid J travel and a lot of travel up front on other airlines, particularly BA. RJ wouldn't likely figure in much as they don't have F. But if AA sees you consistently shelling out $5-10k/ticket for J and sees you doing so to get lie-flats on BA (presumably, even though in the OP's case it's price) they might want to give you a little nudge towards spending a little more for those lie-flats in AA F.
Pj's are nice and I want to be the last person to be thankless about receiving a gift, though I doubt that a set of PJs would make me change a $6k J ticket to a $12k F ticket. Even with my employer shelling out the cash that's a leap too big for just PJs
