I'd bet on getting "it's broken"...

When I fly on a 757, I stow my bags and then walk up to the cockpit to ask about Channel 9. In the past, I'd usually get an enthusiastic response, and had one captain invite me in to check out the charts, etc..

Now-a-days, I get a stern "no" or "it's broken" or "we don't have it installed"

My last six flights have all had Channel 9 turned off..
