The Gold Coast/Mag Mile area is a much nicer area. But, you won't have too many dive bars to go to (not a dive bar neighborhood). You would have to find those around Soldier Field.

Personally, I prefer the Gold Coast/Mag Mile area to the others previously discussed. It has better food options. But this is an upscale area so it will come at a cost.
