Why would the JV survive? It was put in place so that UA could operate the route using an aircraft with a lower cost structure than any other that they could operate in-house. Now they have other aircraft with lower costs that let them bring it back in.
The pilots should be ecstatic that mainline flying is coming back in-house, shouldn't they???
That is my exact point. The pilots were never going to let that JV survive.
