For now. But those same staff are the ones who have to deliver the service. Tomorrow. And the next day. And next month. Morale has got to be at an all time low. Some staff are going to be defensive, some resentful and some just plain old pissed off and looking to get even. Human nature.
What about the qualitative effects of what just occurred? Use whatever analogy you like, but if you back a snake into a corner, you will eventually get bitten. Just because there is a ban on industrial action, doesn't mean that they are powerless.
If Qantas and its leadership think that reducing fares and offering double frequent flyer points is going to make "the difference" and that the travelling public who were stuck last weekend will simply forgive and forget, I think that's plain wrong.
Not only are Qantas losing my business. But far more importantly, my trust as well.
