Second the Government could have issued a termination notice when notified by QF of the Grounding.That would have prevented the grounding.In fact there are reports that some senior ministers thought that was what should have been done.Julia felt otherwise.
My understanding is that if the Government used their power to terminate, it would have saved a few hours in getting the termination of stoppage however would not have produced the outcome of a 21 day period with compulsory arbitration at the end

It seems to me, from that info, that using the FWA was definitely a better long term strategy
