I dropped my mint between the nightstand and bed. I reached down and instead of grabbing the mint, I grabbed an opened (but thank God unused) condom.

After using my anti bacterial wash, I called the front desk and asked them to come up and see the room.

The agent was very apologetic and appropriately horrified. I am a Diamond GP and she offered 5,000 points which she said she hoped was fair.

I explained the main reason I thought she should see this is so that housekeeping should be reminded to check between the bed and nightstand.

Keep in mind this was a new Hyatt in a major city and is a category 4 hotel but was much nicer than the category 6 hotel that I just stayed in located in the same city.

Is 5,000 a reasonable gesture for this?
